Texans Again

We have been in Dallas the last two weekends helping Jeremy and Luci with their move.  Last weekend was Jeremy's birthday!  So excited to drive 3 hours to see him!  It used to be 7.5- so it feels much better.  He was so excited to get his Texas Driver's License  so now he says he is a real Texan again.  Their house is beautiful and the kids are excited.  Just as you would expect the neighbors have been incredibly nice.  One lady brought Luci a list of all the names of the people on the street and the ages of their children.  Luci keeps joking that Kirk and I can build on the lot across the street from them.  They just tore the house down and are gong to build a new one.  They live in the Lakewood area close to downtown and North Dallas. Jeremy has friends and Luci has her best friend a short 40 minutes away.  So all is well in Dallas.  Here are some pictures to capture a few precious moments:

The kids with my mom and dad.  We spent some of both weekends there so  Luci could work on the house.

Jeremy's surprise birthday party with his Dallas friends.  Luci  pulled this off after  four days  living there!

At Chuck e Cheese

Finley loved this game! We met Ross ( Kirk's brother) and Debbie and their kids  at Chuck e Cheese

Brunch for the birthday boy at the very IHOP where he proposed to Luci!
Uncle Connor always keeps them entertained!

As song for Jeremy and Luci

 Lyrics to Home :
Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Word of the Year

Welcome 2013!   Each year I choose a word of the year to focus on.  Last year the word was Jubilee and life for me was certainly a Jubilee:

3 new grandbabies
All kids back in Texas
Stable jobs- both of us happy
Disneyworld with Finley and Carter
Alaska with Kirk, Connor, my mom and dad, and brother's family
Health
Weightloss
Cousin in remission from breast cancer

So what to focus on this year.  Well when I first started thinking about this I came up with the word : intentional.  I wanted to be intentional about eating, exercise, my work. So the word intentional means: done with purpose.  It does have strong meaning  as I want to live a purposeful life.  I do ask for your prayers as I seek discernment of God's will on the intentional decisions I make in this year.

"Discerning and acting on God's will does not mean you'll never have difficult days or feel lousy sometimes. But choosing to live in alignment with God makes you more joyful, compassionate, and peaceful, even on bad days."
------ Debra K. Farrington, *Hearing with the Heart*

More of Jesus let me learn
        More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God, my teacher be
Showing the things of Christ to me.
